HWC organized a press conference to launch (SRHR) program

Consul General of Sweden, Ms. Ann-Sofie Nilsson, participated in a press conference organized by the Health Work Committees (HWC). The event marked the launch of a program that aims at enhancing the status of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) among Palestinian society, focusing on youth and on people with disabilities. The program supported by Sweden, is to ensure that adolescents, women and men, have equal access to information on SRHR and to ultimately push for policies that would ensure gender equality.

During her speech, Ms. Nilsson highlighted Sweden’s Feminist Foreign Policy which reaffirms that gender equality is central to the advancement of societies and to poverty reduction. Sweden places a high priority on promoting SRHR and is committed to ensuring that the rights perspective of SRHR is lifted.
