Health Work Committees and Action against Hunger (ACF) Conduct First Aid Courses in Area C

In cooperation with Action against Hunger organization, Health Work Committees conducted first aid training sessions for citizens in five Beduin communities in Area C.  The training session were implemented in Shuab Al batem, Berrin and Ar Rahwa in the South, and Maazi Jaba’ and Maghayer al Dair in the Middle of the West Bank.
 Dr. Ibrahim Abu Ayyash, HWC’s primary health care director, said that this day came in response to an appeal from ACF and also in line with the vision and mission of our organization to promote the concept of voluntary work, and in order to raise health awareness in dealing with emergency situations in light of closures and the state of emergency experienced by the country, especially in marginalized areas.
 
The training was conducted by Dr. Gandhi Tamimi, Dr. Mazen Dana, and nurse Nehaya of Health work committees in cooperation with Ms. Mervat Al Heimoni of ACF,and have benefited nearly 140 citizen (90 males and 50 females). The sessions covered different subjects such as first aid of bleeding, wounds, fractures, burns, poisoning... etc. First aid guide was distributed to all trainees.
 
Furthermore, Ms. Mervat Al Heimoni of ACF organization said that the organization strives to serve and protect the poor and the marginalized, especially in Area C, and enhance their steadfastness, and added that these courses came in response to the needs of the population in those areas through various projects activities funded by the European Commission -Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection. She also added that the organization will distribute first aid bags and fire distinguishers in those areas as a means of prevention and protection from any possible attack by settlers in the coming days.

 

Ms. Al Heimoni commended the work of Health Work Committees, and expressed her gratitude in the success of these activities.
