The women have expressed the positive impact of the health education sessions on preconception and family planning offered by Health Work Committees (HWC) have had on them and their families. The women stated that their confidence in themselves was greatly boosted after building a relationship based on trust with their peers and the health workers.
HWC’s Tubas health clinic is considered a referral center, serving approximately 50,000 patients per year along with running seven mobile clinics in the North. As part of Sweden’s support to HWC, sexual and reproductive health services, such as marriage counseling and preconception counseling, were added to the HWC clinics.
